Tokyo's listings on this wiki cover two quite different nights out. The members' hostess lounges in Roppongi and Nishiazabu sell timed seating, drinks and the company of hostesses for conversation, while the nightclubs are in Shibuya and Minami Aoyama. Where to go. All five current hostess lounges are in Minato City: two in Roppongi and three in neighbouring Nishiazabu. The nightclubs on the site are WOMB, in Maruyama-cho in Shibuya, and VENT, in a basement in Minami Aoyama near Omotesando.

How a night runs. The lounges open at 7 or 8 p.m., and those that publish a closing time close at 1 a.m. Some close at weekends: CIRCUS on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and THE TOKYO LOUNGE on Sundays and public holidays. Some run memberships: BEKKAN publishes separate member and trial rates, and 703 Lounge registers newcomers on the spot, asking for a business card but not an introduction. WOMB's events run from 11 p.m. to 4.30 a.m. Both clubs admit only guests aged 20 or over with photo ID, and VENT wants the physical card, not a photo or copy, and turns away sandals. The drinking age in Japan is 20.

What it costs. Most lounges bill by time, and the membership and charges guide explains the parts. As of October 2026, CIRCUS and THE TOKYO LOUNGE both list a 60-minute charge of ¥12,000. CIRCUS extends at ¥6,000 per 30 minutes, and 703 Lounge extends automatically in 30-minute blocks at ¥6,500 per person. Service charges of 25% to 30% and 10% consumption tax go on top, so a ¥12,000 hour comes to more than ¥16,000. Late fees apply too: from 10 p.m., THE TOKYO LOUNGE adds ¥1,000 per person and BEKKAN ¥2,000. WOMB charges ¥4,000 at the door for its weekend events, and VENT ¥4,000, or ¥2,000 if you pay before midnight.

Avoiding overcharges. Never follow a street tout into a bar. Touts in Roppongi, Kabukicho and Shibuya have steered visitors to bars where drinks were spiked and cards were charged without consent, and Minato City bans touting in public places. See a price list before you sit down, check whether each charge is per person, and agree before extending or ordering anything outside the set. Keep your card in sight when you pay.

Getting home. Trains stop around midnight, so expect your last train between 11.30 p.m. and 12.30 a.m.; services restart at 5 or 6 a.m. In between, take a taxi. Since 20 April 2026 a standard taxi in the 23 wards costs up to ¥500 for the first kilometre and ¥100 per 232 metres after that, with 20% added between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. GO, Uber, DiDi and S.RIDE all work in Tokyo, and GO accepts international credit cards.
