Terms and Acronyms

This glossary explains labels used in the wiki's nightlife listings. A label is not a complete billing rule: the same word can cover different periods, guest units or services. Ask the venue to define it in the quotation for your visit.

Booking and billing

TermMeaning and question to resolve
SET / timed chargeAn initial timed seating charge in the cited Japanese customer schedules. Confirm the duration, whether per person or party, and included orders. [1] [2]
Extension / 延長An additional time period. 703 expressly describes an automatic extension after the initial hour; that policy is venue-specific. [1]
Request / 指名A separately listed charge for a request. Confirm the request type, person and period; CIRCUS lists it separately from the SET. [2]
Accompaniment / 同伴A separate accompaniment line on some Japanese schedules. Ask the venue to explain the arrangement and fee period. [2]
Room chargeA charge for room use. It may be additional to timed guest charges; confirm its period and capacity. [2]
Minimum spendA required amount of eligible spending for the selected booking. Ask which orders count and whether other charges are additional.
Included creditAn amount available to spend within a package. XANA publishes seating packages with food and beverage credit; it should not be subtracted again from the package price. [3]
Service charge and taxSeparately stated fees. Ask which subtotal each percentage applies to; adding two percentages does not establish the final bill. [2]
BookingMay mean a reservation or a separate paid arrangement in contributor text. State exactly what you are reserving and what the charge covers.
TipAn additional payment described in contributor accounts. Confirm the venue arrangement instead of assuming a universal amount.
LD / lady drinkContributor shorthand for a drink ordered for a person working at the venue. Ask the price and any applicable fees before ordering. [4]

Use exact terms in a quote

Record the amount, currency, guest or room unit, time period, inclusion and source date. Keep optional requests, compulsory charges and alternative packages separate. Unclear labels should remain questions rather than being converted into a calculated total.
