Drinking games (dice and others) in Clubs, Bars and KTVs in Asia

History

Liar's Dice

Each player holds five dice, rolls simultaneously, and makes ascending bids about dice values to deceive opponents.

Players bid on quantities and values (e.g., "three fives"), with subsequent players either calling "Liar!" or raising the bid. When challenged, all dice are revealed. If the stated amount exists, the accuser drinks; otherwise, the bidder drinks.

Key Rules

  • Bids must progress along an ascending sequence (can't backtrack)
  • Ones typically count as wildcards toward any value
  • A player may call "Chai" (exact count without wildcards), risking a drink if incorrect
  • The previous round's loser starts the next round

Rock Paper Scissors

Straightforward with customizable rules. Common variations include:

  • Winner or loser drinks
  • Adjacent players drink
  • Player selects others to drink
  • Those differing from the first player drink

Five-Ten

A two-player game using finger combinations: players show closed fists (0), one open hand (5), or both hands open (10). Opponents guess the total fingers displayed. Winning twice consecutively requires the opponent to drink.

This requires fast reflexes to avoid being bamboozled.
