Mummy

Mummy, also spelled as mommy and mami, is the term for the head female in charge of the hostesses in KTVs, Massages, Clubs and other nightlife venues. She manages the girls and acts as the intermediary between the customers and the hostesses. The mummy typically facilitates introductions and handles requests for particular girls. Customers often develop relationships with the mummy to secure the best girls or ensure smoother interactions.

In certain venues such as Singapore KTVs, mummy also handles the booking for customers. Usually, the customer will meet the mummy first, and the mummy will bring the hostesses in a line-up. Inform the mummy if you have particular requests for the girls.

The Japanese name for mummy is mama-san. And the male version of the mummy is papa or papa-san.
