She manages the girls and acts as the intermediary between the customers and the hostesses. The mummy typically facilitates introductions and handles requests for particular girls. Customers often develop relationships with the mummy to secure the best girls or ensure smoother interactions. Additionally, Mummy will often drink and entertain the customers. They are usually older than the hostesses or are former hostesses, but not always.
In certain venues such as Singapore KTVs, mummy also handles the booking for customers. Usually, the customer will meet the mummy first, and the mummy will bring the hostesses in a line-up. Inform the mummy if you have particular requests for the girls. They will also keep the girls in line by, for example, making sure the girls don't butterfly for too long.
